The Swordfish Ikon Mechanical Sharpener is suitable for most types of 8mm pencils and gives excellent results with graphite, crayon, watercolour and pastel pencils. This manually operated sharpener and will sharpen a pencil to a 20 degree point and takes only 15 revolutions to sharpen to a pinpoint. A durable precision tool, the Swordfish Ikon pencil sharpener has a smart, timeless look, but inside it has a modern helical blade that produces an excellent pencil point with minimal effort. Its compact dimensions make it perfect for the space conscious, yet its high capacity shavings tray is capable of holding the shavings resulting from bringing fifteen brand new, square-cut, pencils to a sharp point. This combination of small size and high capacity make it ideal wherever space is at a premium, whether it be in the home, office, school or college.
One hand, easy operation
The Swordfish Ikon Mechanical Sharpener has an extendable front plate that holds the pencil securely. This front plate will slowly draw the pencil into the sharpener as the handle is turned. Sharpening will stop when the perfect 20º point has been achieved – there is no danger that your pencils will be wasted through over-sharpening. The Ikon comes complete with a desk clamp for added stability. The desk clamp is particularly useful in a classroom or workshop environment as it ensures the sharpener is kept safely and securely in one place and can be operated with one hand.
Change the blade, not the sharpener
As with all sharpeners the helical blade will, over time, become blunt. But you won’t need to change the sharpener as replacement blades are available, ensuring many years of use - Swordfish product ref: 40908. Replacing the blade mechanism is simplicity itself and only takes a few moments.
