A set of twelve sterling silver shot cups. This fantastic set are not only opulent to drink from, but they also display beautifully for the back of the bar, or on a tray surrounding a cocktail shaker. The are a stunning set, all hand made, hand hammered out of sheet silver formed and shaped beautifully. They are not just a simple conical design, each of the rims opens out to make them more comfortable to imbibe from!
These cups are not stamped out, as is often the case. Each one of these is laboriously hand crafted from sheet metal. When observing closely one can see the small hammer marks into the metal that contribute to shaping each wonderful vessel. They are also not flimsy, as is often the case. They are a beautiful weight and quality. Made in Peru during the middle of the last century, a country where, like many other parts of Latin America, there has been generational talent at hand working silver. A metal that has forever been admired. Although not signed, they came from a wonderful artisan in Lima. Simply stamped "925" and "Peru" on the base.
The set is presented in perfect condition, and come in their original anti tarnish cloth pouches. They have been acquired privately from a couple who spent twenty five years living and working in Peru and were acquired from one of the finest silversmiths in Lima in the 1960's. There are also two stunning hand made sterling trays that are also listed on the site from the original couple. These were originally displayed on one of them. They are ready to either be displayed on a bar, or to be used and enjoyed! A rare chance to own a set of twelve matching shot cups in perfect condition, of the highest quality.
